On September 19, 2023, Tarrant County Commissioners Court will adopt the FY 24 proposed budget and tax rate. The Commissioners Court has proposed a tax rate of $0.1945 which is below the no-new-revenue rate and will collect less taxes than the previous tax year.

Ban On Outdoor Burning
June 17, 2024 - The Tarrant County Commissioners Court approved an outdoor burning ban on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, for unincorporated Tarrant County. With this Order, there will be no outdoor burning without the approval of the Tarrant County Fire Marshal’s Office for the next 90 days, excluding cooking, welding and the use of fire pits for social gatherings.
Executive Search begins as Tarrant County Administrator G.K. Maenius announces retirement
June 17, 2024 - FORT WORTH, Texas - The Tarrant County Commissioners Court and search firm Mackenzie Eason & Associates have officially announced the commencement of a nationwide search for a new County Administrator following the upcoming retirement of G.K. Maenius. Maenius, a respected public servant, is set to retire on September 30 after serving the County since 1988.
