By making energy efficient upgrades, benefits include less use of resources, lowered utility bills, and improved air quality. Upgrades can include Energy Star appliances and light bulbs, programmable thermostats and smart plugs to control energy usage.
Energy Programs
High-Efficency Electric Home Rebate Act (HEEHRA) provides consumer rebates to low-moderate income households to electrify their homes. Electrification projects include heat pump HVAC systems, heat pump water heaters, electric stoves, and heat pump clothes dryers.
SmartChoice is a rebate on high efficiency furnaces, gas storage water heaters, tankless gas water heaters and smart thermostats that are EnergyStar approved.
Oncor Retail Products Program provides Oncor residential customers with in-store, point-of-sale discounts when they purchase qualifying EnergyStar®-rated LED lighting products and consumer appliances.
EPA Programs
Water Heaters - Gas, Oil, Propane
Certain EnergyStar® certified gas water heaters meet the requirements for this tax credit. Water heaters account for 12 percent of the energy consumed in your home. Tax Credit Amount: $300

Central Air Conditioning (CAC)
Air conditioners recognized as EnergyStar® Most Efficient meet the requirements for this tax credit. To verify tax credit eligibility, ask your HVAC contractor to provide the Manufacturer Certification Statement for the equipment you plan to purchase. Tax Credit Amount: $300
