Tarrant County farmers eligible for disaster aid
Tarrant County farmers are eligible to apply for low-interest emergency loans from flooding that occurred on Sept. 1, 2019.
The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture declared 13 Texas counties as primary natural disaster areas. Ellis County, which is adjacent to Tarrant County, was one of those 13 counties.
Tarrant County is one of 45 Texas counties that qualified by being contiguous to one of the primary natural disaster areas.
Under the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency program, farmers can apply for emergency loans to help recover from production and physical losses.
Applications will be received through May 16, 2020.
Small businesses that are dependent on farmers and ranchers are also eligible for low-interest federal disaster loans through the Small Business Administration.
