Join Wally Funk, American Aviator, Commercial Astronaut and Goodwill Ambassador at Empowering Seniors

HURST, Texas – Special guests Wally Funk, an American aviator, commercial astronaut, and goodwill ambassador; Troy Dungan, iconic weatherman and Care N’ Care member; and the Dallas Cowboy’s Alumni Cheerleaders from the 70’s, will meet and greet with attendees at Empowering Seniors.

The free award-winning health and wellness expo will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Hurst Conference Center, 1601 Campus Drive, Hurst, TX. Parking and a shuttle service will be available from the TCC Northeast Campus at Harwood and Campus Drive in Hurst. There will also be photo opportunities with the celebrity guests.

The event focuses on issues important to seniors (50+), baby boomers, their families, and their caregivers.

With over 2,800 attendees at past events, Tarrant County Precinct 3 Commissioner Gary Fickes stated, “The response to our annual event in past years has been amazing ... the age 50+ citizens represent the fastest growing segment of our community, and we want to address topics that are extremely relevant to them.”

Seniors, boomers, and caregivers will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, receive health screenings from area hospitals and healthcare facilities, and receive flu shots and other vaccines. Attendees can watch entertainment, win door prizes, and enjoy delicious selections from 10 restaurants provided at booths, starting at 10:30 a.m., as well as have access to over 135 senior–focused businesses and agencies.
