Programs
The Sheriff's Office regulates Alarm Permits for unincorporated Tarrant County. The alarm permits are issued by the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office. All permit fees are $25. Permits are valid for one year from date of issue. Renewal notices are mailed to permit holders 30 days prior to the permit expiration date.
The Community Relations Division of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is committed to providing drug and safety awareness education to Tarrant County residents in addition to promoting employment opportunities.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Courtesy Patrol is a federal Clean Air grant-funded operation through the Texas Department of Transportation and the North Central Texas Council of Governments. The Courtesy Patrol teams roam the major highways in Tarrant County searching for stranded motorists, abandoned vehicles or debris on the roadway.
Sheriff's Community Oriented Policing and Enforcement
The SCOPE deputy conducts crime prevention programs for schools and neighborhood groups, and assists in the organization and development of crime watch neighborhoods. Its mandate is to provide a community outreach through education and crime prevention. SCOPE is actively involved in special events like the Tarrant County Youth Safety Fair and National Night Out.
Victim Information and Notification Everyday
VINELink is the online version of VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday), the National Victim Notification Network. This service allows crime victims to obtain timely and reliable information about criminal cases and the custody status of offenders 24-hours-a-day.
America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response
The AMBER Alert System began in 1996 when Dallas-Fort Worth broadcasters teamed with local police to develop an early warning system to help find abducted children. AMBER stands for America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response and was created as a legacy to 9-year-old Amber Hagerman, who was kidnaped while riding her bicycle in Arlington, TX, and then brutally murdered. Other states and communities soon set up their own AMBER plans as the idea was adopted across the nation.

The Labor Detail is in a unique position to support other County agencies in partnership to solve community problems. On November 12, 2019, Tarrant County Commissioners Court approved the regulations of operations of game rooms in Tarrant County. Subsequently, Tarrant County Commissioners Court approved the first amendment to the Tarrant County Game Room Regulations on February 11, 2020, Commissioners Court Order 132104.
