Commissioner Gary Fickes created Empowering Seniors to fill a need. This one-day event grew from 300 attendees in 2009 to 3000 in 2019. Regarding health and safety, Empowering Seniors has evolved from a one-day event to several smaller yet more focused Wellness Seminars and other outreach initiatives for area seniors and caregivers from 2020 to 2022. We were also inspired to transform our website to serve you year-round, allowing us to provide you with valuable information, games, and resources, all available on the website. The in-person Empowering Seniors Health and Wellness EXPO will return on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Hurst Conference Center.

Every other month, join us for coffee, donuts, and great conversations at this come-and-go gathering at the Northeast Courthouse from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
