Tarrant County opened the doors to its public law library on October 1, 1945. Located in the 1895 Courthouse, the law library served mostly judges and attorneys in its early years, but has expanded to serve the legal needs of the Tarrant County citizenry at large. It was renamed the Dell DeHay Law Library of Tarrant County, in the 1970s, after its longtime Librarian, Dell DeHay. On October 7, 2022, the Law Library celebrated 77 years of service to the community.

In April, the Law Library celebrated National Library Week with a variety of activities and giveaways for its patrons. On Monday, patrons were invited to enjoy treats and sweets in the Law Library. On the following day, we celebrated National Library Workers Day, inviting guests to meet our staff take home some free stickers. Perhaps, the most popular event, staff offered free cups of coffee on Wednesday. On the final two days, staff set up a Selfie Station, provided color-your-own bookmarks, and a scavenger hunt of legal resources.
