Guardianship

Guardianship is a legal proceeding whereby a person may be appointed to make medical, placement and/or financial decisions for an incapacitated person. A more detailed explanation can be found in Guardianship Summary.

Additionally, the Court and attorneys are required by law to see if alternatives to guardianship exist. A list of suggested less restrictive alternatives to guardianship is available.
