Tobacco Use, Smoking and Vaping
Tobacco use has been a health concern for many years. Studies show that tobacco use, in whatever product form, contributes to many health problems and exacerbates chronic and other health conditions.
The term "tobacco product" means any product made or derived from tobacco that is intended for human consumption, including any component, part or accessory of a tobacco product. This includes, among other products, cigarettes, cigarette tobacco, roll-your-own tobacco and smokeless tobacco.
Recent studies have also shown that use of e-cigarettes --and vaping-- can affect a young user's brain, seriously affecting their ability to learn, remember and maintain focus.
Tarrant County Public Health offers a tobacco awareness class for youth to help them break the tobacco and vape habit. Our four-week "Live Tobacco Free." class can help adults quit tobacco products.
