Inmate Health Services

Medical and dental services are available to all inmates of the Tarrant County Jail. Inmates will receive medical attention regardless of their ability to pay. The medical services that are available are:

Medical Services

• Emergency care
• Assessment of new significant illness
• Monitoring/supervision of chronic disorders

Dental Services

• Triage of dental complaints
• Trauma and treatment of abscesses
• Tooth extractions

Vision Services

• Eye examinations are available
• Glasses are not provided

Medications

• Medication is distributed by the licensed medical staff, per jail physician orders
• Some over the counter medications can be purchased from the commissary
