The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration Unit is responsible for the investigation and enforcement of the Sex Offender Registration Program required in Chapter 62 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration Unit tracks offenders living within the cities of River Oaks, Benbrook, Edgecliff Village and Haslet as well as the unincorporated area of Tarrant County.  A GIS mapping link is provided for all offenders followed by the Sheriff’s Office.  Sex offenders must register in person with their local law enforcement authority in the municipality where they reside or intend to reside.

Example:

• If a sex offender lives in the city of Fort Worth, they must contact the Fort Worth Police Department at 817-392-4350 located at 350 W. Belknap St. Fort Worth, TX 76196. 

• If a sex offender lives in unincorporated Tarrant County, they must contact the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office at 817-884-3354 located at 200 Taylor St. 7th floor, of the Tarrant County Plaza building in Fort Worth, TX 76196. 

A sex offender required to register with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office should call Detective Gloria McCarty at the number provided above.  Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Registrations are accommodated by appointment only.

Any sex offenders required to register that are not followed by the Sheriff’s Office can be searched for through the local law enforcement agency where the offender lives and is registered or through the Texas Department of Public Safety web site.
