Summary: The following scrapbook was obtained at an estate sale at the former home of County Commissioner Dick Andersen by University of Texas-Arlington archivist Brenda McClurkin.

Dick Andersen was born on August 29, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Fort Worth to attend Texas Christian University and graduated in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in business and psychology. Andersen entered the construction and land development business in Fort Worth after working as a regional manager for Kimberly Clark in West Texas and Houston. In 1968, he became the Tarrant County Precinct 1 Commissioner and served on the National Association of Counties. The subcourthouse on Alta Mesa was named after him after his retirement in 1988. Andersen passed away in 2013.
