Cell Phone Tower Permits
Cell Phone Tower Permits
All Cell Phone Tower installations or modifications within the unincorporated regions of Tarrant County require a permit. The 79th Texas Legislature's Regular Session passed HB 843 authorizing certain counties to regulate the location of communication facility structures in the county's unincorporated areas. The Tarrant County Commissioners Court adopted regulations regarding communication facility structures on July 5, 2005.
A complete set of plans for the tower -- along with any applicable permits from the FAA, FCC, and other regulatory agencies -- is required with the submission of the permit request. The permit application must include a plat or map of the proposed tower site. The map must show the specific location of the tower and identify any residential subdivisions located within 300 feet of the proposed tower, or within a distance equal to the height of the tower, whichever is greater.
The Cell Phone Tower Permit fee is $50 and is due at the time of submittal of the permit and construction plans for the cell tower.
Please refer to the Cell Phone Tower Permit for specific information regarding modifications to existing cell tower structures.
