The Assistant County Administrator for Legislative Affairs is primarily responsible for representing Tarrant County interests before state legislative committees during sessions of the Texas Legislature and interim periods. He acts as a liaison to the Tarrant County Commissioners Court on all legislative issues and maintains ongoing contacts with the local Tarrant County legislative delegation. He is responsible for keeping county departments abreast of legislative actions affecting county operations. The Assistant County Administrator for Governmental Affairs coordinates external legislative activities and works closely with other urban county representatives that are members of the Texas Conference of Urban Counties (CUC); Texas Association of Counties (TAC); and the Texas County Judges and Commissioners Association (TCJCA). The Assistant County Administrator/Governmental also coordinates internally with the County administrative personnel and department heads on inter-governmental issues.
